Research on flowing air pressure difference analogy and wind turbine blades airfoil profile
determination theory

Abstract:Airfoil is the key factor in wind power blades design,which has an important influence on the
aerodynamic performance,wind energy conversion and wind energy utilization of wind turbine blades. There⁃
fore,blade airfoil research is a difficult problem and hot issue in wind turbine blade research. In this the⁃
sis,the interaction between flowing air and wind turbine blades is analyzed in depth,the concept of analo⁃
gy between the air gravity and power is generated by flow between pre- and post air pressure difference is
put forward, and the energy conversion relationship of air flows along wind turbine blades is established.
Based on this, the theoretical formula of wind turbine blades airfoil profile is derived. And the Xfoil soft⁃
ware was used to compare and analyze the new airfoil determined by the theoretical formula of the airfoil
profile and BRUXEL36 airfoil. It was found that the new airfoil had a higher lift-drag ratio under the at⁃
tack angle of -2° to 6°, in which the attack angle was 3° the lift-drag ratio of the new airfoil is about
25% higher than that of the BRUXEL36 airfoil. The research of the thesis provides a new attempt and an
important reference for the development of the theory of the interaction between flowing air and wind power
blades and the theory of wind blade airfoil profile.
