                  Abstract:Thedischargeforasinglespillwaytunnelinalargehydropowerstationisanimportantdesignparameter
                  forthedamlayout,spillwaysafety,andprojectinvestments.However,quantitativeinvestigationofthemaximum
                  dischargewaslimitedinpreviousstudies.Basedonthecalculationofthetunneldischargejettrajectorylengthand
                  downstreamscourdepth ,thisstudyestablishedrelationshipsbetweentunneldischargeanddownstreamwidth,tun
                  nellayoutaxisanddownstreamriverchannelwidth ,bedrockscourresistance,tunneloperationmode,etc.Quan
                  titativeestimationstudieshavebeenconductedonthespillwaytunnelsrespectivelyfortheprojectsofBaihetan ,Xi
                  aowan,Xiluodu,andJinping - I.Theestimationresultsarewellconsistentwiththeengineeringpracticeandthe
                  designschemes,indicatinghighreliabilityfortheestimationmethod.Thismethodcanbeappliedtopredictthe
                  maximumdischargeforconstruction - schedulingspillwaytunnelsandtoassessexistingspillwaytunnelsintermsof
                  themaximumflowdischarge.
