Termite hazard is a serious threat to the safe operation of embankment dam engineering, which is long-term, gradual, and invisible. It is necessary to take effective prevention and control measures. For a long time, the treatment of termite nests in embankment dam mostly adopted the method of backfilling after excavation, which was not only inefficient, but also caused great damage to embankment dam. The use of grouting techniques for termite infestation control in embankment dam is currently receiving increasing attention. However, traditional grouting methods rely on chemicals, which can have a negative impact on the environment. In order to promote the greenization, refinement, and intelligence of grouting control technology for termite infestation, the new trend of the current development of grouting control technology for termite infestation in embankment dam was summarized. It also pointed out that termite infestation control is still facing various challenges including the lack of specificity of grouting materials and equipment, and the lack of uniformity in industry standards. In the future, the crucial to the development of grouting control technology is to improve the industry standards and norms, to develop lightweight intelligent grouting equipment and green grouting materials, to promote the sustainable development of termite infestation grouting control technology, and to explore the integrated control mode of termite infestation prevention and control technology. |
