| The river sediment discipline is a comprehensive technical science, which studies the rules of movement, erosion and deposition of sediment in flows, covering sediment transport mechanics, fluvial river morphology, engineering sediment , regulat ion of navigation channel and harbor, hyper-concentrated flows, debris flow and so on. On the basis of browsing massive research literatures published at home and abroad, the authors carried out a tracking invest igat ion on the sediment discipline?? s historic evolut ion, major achievements as well as the development trend, with focus being laid on sediment movement , fluvial processes, reservoir sedimentation and numerical simulat ion technology. After analyzing and comparing the domestic and foreign researches, the authors put forward some proposals on development direction and issues worth paying more attent ion to. |
