| Soil erosion, resulting in loss of water and soil resources and degradation of eco-environment, has become a serious problem endangering the survival and development of mankind. Both India and China are countries with most serious soil erosion problems in the world. They have many similarities in natural and social conditions. A brief review of the basic status and characteristics of soil erosion in India was given in this paper. The advancements and experiences were summarized form 3 aspects: basic research, predict ion and prevention countermeasures of soil erosion. On this basis, some suggestions of soil erosion control for Chinese engineers and decision-makers were put forward as reference. |
